Dr. Dharmarao Gonipati completed BSC (1996) from Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada and Post-Graduation, M.Phil, and Doctoral Studies (Ph.D) from the Department of Telugu, School of Humanities, University of Hyderabad. He has also completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education (PGDDE) and Certificate in Tribal Studies from Indira Gandhi National Open University.

 

He started his career as an Assistant Regional Director of IGNOU in 2006. He joined IGNOU Regional Centre, Koraput (Odisha) as Assistant Regional Director in 2006 and continuing in IGNOU in various capacities. He dealt with Academic Administration at various places like Koraput, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. He had at his credit that he worked in the Largest Maoist infested Area of Dandakaranya to promote Higher Education to the most unreached masses of Tribal districts of Chattisgarh and Odisha through Open and Distance Learning system.

 

He is a bright researcher in Modern Telugu Poetry and published books in the area. He participated and presented papers in many seminars/workshops in the area of Distance Education and Telugu Literature at various Educational Institutions and forums.  He published articles in the areas of Modern Telugu Poetry and Distance Education.

 

Presently he is working as the Senior Regional Director at Visakhapatnam Regional Centre of IGNOU.
