Dr Dharmarao Gonipati

Regional Director

Dr. Dharmarao Gonipati completed BSC (1996) from Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada and Post-Graduation, M.Phil, and Doctoral Studies (Ph.D) from the Department of Telugu, School of Humanities, University of Hyderabad. He has also completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education (PGDDE) from Indira Gandhi National Open University. He has cleared the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) and UGC Junior/Senior Research fellowship.  


He worked as a Lecturer in Telugu at Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada in 2002 and later was offered the position of Assistant Regional Director of IGNOU in 2006. He joined IGNOU Regional Centre, Koraput (Odisha) as Assistant Regional Director in 2006 and continuing in IGNOU in various capacities. He dealt with Academic Administration for a region of 12 Districts of Odisha and Chattisgarh in the tenure of 10 years. He had at his credit that he worked in the Largest Maoist infested Area of Dandakaranya to promote Higher Education to the most unreached masses of Tribal districts of Chattisgarh and Odisha through Open and Distance Learning system. He also served as the Regional Director (I/C) at Regional Centre, Koraput for a period of six months and streamlined the activities of the Regional Centre for the smooth management.


He has participated and presented papers in many seminars/workshops in the area of Distance Education at various Educational Institutions and forums.  He published articles in the areas of Modern Telugu Peotry and Distance Education.

He is currently working as Regional Director.
